F1 22 has added lots of features to make the game realistic, and DRS is one of those features that, on the one hand, help the players during a race and make it more realistic on the other. If you don’t know what DRS is and how it works in F1 22, go through the guide, and you’ll get all the information.
What is DRS, and How It Works in F1 22?
The full form of DRS is Drag Reduction System. If you are a newcomer and haven’t ever played any game of the F1 series, you probably don’t know what this Drag Reduction System means. DRS increases the car’s straight-line speed and reduces the lower flap at the rear wing. Players can turn it on manually by pressing Y on Xbox and Triangle button on PlayStation.
DRS can be turned on automatically as well. If you want the game to do it for you, go to the Assists Section of the game and Turn on the DRS Assists. But whether manually or automatically, players need to meet some criteria to turn on DRS. DRS can’t be turned on randomly whenever you want. There are specific criteria to turn on DRS-
- DRS can be turned on at certain zones of the track that are called DRS Zones. Once you enter a DRS zone, you can turn on DRS.
- You can turn on DRS at a one-second distance from the car in front.
- You have to complete the first two laps.
These are the criteria that must be fulfilled to activate DRS. Now, if you are a new player, you may question how to identify a DRS Zone in the game. Well, the DRS zone’s entry points are marked on the map by a green line, and the endpoint is also marked in a similar way. Moreover, you can hear a beep sound as you enter a DRS Zone.
That’s all you need to know about DRS and how to turn it on in F1 22. Remember to fulfill the above-mentioned criteria to activate DRS; otherwise, DRS won’t work. If you like our guide, check out our other guides: F1 22 – How to Race without Traction Control, Fix F1 22 Ego Dumper Crash.
