Even though Diablo 3 was released way back in 2012, the game remains a mystery for most. After the release of Season 25, fans of the action RPG are not slowing down in getting through all the nooks and crannies of the game. If you are just starting and are confused about all the characters or classes in the game and have no idea which one to choose, you can refer to our guide for the complete breakdown.
Breakdown of all the Characters and Classes
Diablo 3 has been hailed as one of the best RPGs of the time. Known for its fast-paced action, extraordinary gears and weapon system, complex storyline, and seasonal contents, this game has not shown any signs of slowing down. If you were not a fan of Diablo 2: Resurrected, and are confused about which classes are available to choose, you can keep reading.
Currently, there are seven classes in the game to choose from. But one of them, the Necromancer, requires a DLC to be able to play with, namely the Reaper of Souls DLC.
Barbarian
The strongest melee weapon wielder in the game. This ruthless brawler is perfect if you like to smash, crush and pulverize demons with brute strength.
Their special ability is to generate Fury, which accumulates by taking and dealing damage. Fury helps you channel all the damage into offensive sweeping strikes that can be explosive in taking down enemies.
Crusader
Armed with the biggest shield and the heaviest flail, the crusaders are the best defensive class there is. They can use their celestial energy to take down hoards of enemies in one shot. They can also strengthen their allies with buffing laws, making them the best tacticians in the game.
Demon Hunter
If you would rather sit in the shadows and hunt demons down, then the Demon Hunter class is for you. Armed with ranged weapons, traps, and magic, Demon Hunters can take down any enemy that approaches them with their crossbows. They are great for both offense and defense play.
Monk
Though they might not seem too intimidating from the looks of them, be warned, they can easily channel their energy into any weapon of their choosing, be it a knife or their own bare hands. Monks are best for close-range melee combat as they can swiftly attack just as well as they can dodge. If you love a character who uses discipline and spirituality for the sacred destruction of demons, then the Monk is for you
Necromancer
Only available through the Reaper of Souls DLC, the Necromancer always felt a part of Diablo 3. The dark mage commander of the game, choose the Necromancer if you enjoy practicing the dark arts, crushing enemies at your whim, and using their blood to empower your spells. You can also summon hoards of the dead from the graves to help you in battle.
Witch Doctor
With the Witch Doctor, you will never be alone. Always surrounded by morbid pets, whether it is a spider, a bat, or a zombie, the Witch Doctor might use them to finish off the enemies they have roped in. Use various hexes and transmutations to get inside your enemies’ heads to take control of them and finish them off for good. Your curses will be no match for the demon hoard, as they will help debuff enemies for your allies too. Keep an eye on your mana as the recharge speed for a Witch Doctor is quite slow.
Wizard
The magical beings of the game, you will love using the Wizard if all you can think of is using the elements against your enemies. Use the power of lightning, ice, fire, and pure arcane strength to bring out the storms, explosions, and twisters. The Wizard also has a powerful shield and sword, so you can fight either in close melee range or from afar.
These are all the classes available in Diablo 3 that you can choose from. Each class has its advantage and disadvantage and build type, but you can always go back and start the game fresh if you are not satisfied with what you have chosen.
