You can only achieve the Backbreaker trophy if you stomp on certain mutants, and those are the Swarmers, Dividers, and Guardian Pods. The trophy doesn’t count if you stomp on other necromorphs like Lurkers, Slashers, and Twitchers. Also, the only way you will encounter the above three enemies is only after Chapter 4, so you still have a long way to go before you can claim this trophy.

For the trophy, you need to kill the necromorph with one stomp, and not multiple, and you need to do it 10 times. The easiest and first of the necromorphs you will encounter are the Guardian Pods in Chapter 5. If you head over to the Imaging Diagnostics in the Medical Deck, you will notice a necromorph merged with the wall that cannot run and attack you unless you get too close. These Guardians will spew Pods, and to trigger it you have to get close enough but not too close that it will attack you.

The Pods will shoot projectiles at you, but before they can do that, you should stomp on them. To stomp on enemies, you should press the Spacebar (keyboard) or Right Trigger Button (controller). You can repeat the process by stepping back and waiting for another Pod to spawn. Do this 10 times to get the Backbreaker Trophy/Achievement.
