Activision has confirmed the possible release for Warzone 2 will be sometime later this year.
The ever expanding Call of Duty franchise will soon introduce Warzone 2 later in the year, as the game is confirmed to be under development. Fans of the franchise will have their hands full, as they will also receive Modern Warfare 2 in October this year as well.
Warzone 2’s release date has not yet been confirmed, but fans are guessing it would be sometime after or with the release of Modern Warfare 2. This follows a similar trend to what happened between CoD Cold War and Vanguard, as both had crossovers in the same month and year.
Warzone 2 is stated to be a standalone game, and will not follow the storyline for Warzone. It is also rumored that there will be a reset of progression because of this. There is also still no news of whether any weapon will carry over from the previous titles to Warzone 2, or what changes in the gameplay players can expect. Rumors have stated that there will be a new swim feature, as well as AI bots for both friends and foes. Also, there are new movement controls added, and a new inventory system called the Bag system to explore. There will be significant changes to the Loadouts for Warzone 2 with the addition of Strongholds, and a new system will be put in place to find and use Armor.
Furthermore, Warzone 2 will have the Pro Perks system, similar to Modern Warfare 2, where players can upgrade perks through a challenge system. There will also be two new core maps, along with the popular maps from Warzone and Modern Warfare 2. There will be 18 new areas to explore, and the POI’s are already leaked beforehand.
Activision has kept all, next gen and older gen consoles, in mind for the release of Warzone 2, so fans can expect the game to come out across all platforms.
