Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release in the year 2023, and Respawn Entertainment has stated that the game is built on Unreal Engine 5. So it makes sense that older gen consoles will not be able to support the newer features the game will have.
With faster reload times and ray tracing, along with advanced lighting and improved movement speeds, next-gen consoles like the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will be able to render the game far better than previous gen consoles. That, coupled with the fast storage and controller haptics, especially for the PS5 controller, Respawn is able to tweak the game according to how these consoles will take it. They are also trying to eliminate loading screens entirely, giving you faster gameplay than usual. Next Gen consoles are also more apt in loading larger areas at a faster speed than older consoles, giving you fewer opportunities to wait for the area to load completely. All of these are enough reasons on why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a next gen exclusive.
Will Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release for old-gen consoles?
There are several studios that have stepped down from releasing their games on PS4 and Xbox One, just because the hardware capabilities and performance is not on par with next-gen consoles. The same applies for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Older gen consoles will have a harder time trying to keep up with the capabilities of the game, and no one wants an unpleasant experience. So no, Jedi: Survivor will not be available for Xbox One and PS4.
