The Rings of Power Wizard- Who is It?
The world of The Rings of the Power is filled up with adventure, fantasy, and mystery. During the three episodes, lots of mysterious characters are shown, but their identities are not mentioned properly. The Stranger of Episode 1 is one of them. His introduction is unique. At the end of episode 1, he fell from the sky like a Meteor, and when Hayfoot Nori discovered him, he could barely move or speak. She tried to hide this large man in her tent, but his feet didn’t fit inside. Though in the second episode, audiences get lots of information about him, his true identity is not yet clear.
The audience suspects him to be one of the two wizards of the story- Gandalf or Saruman. These are the two wizards who will be introduced at some point in the story, and the Stranger seems like Gandalf with his long-brown hair, ragged, grey blanket, and cloak. But it’s only the beginning; therefore, people are not sure whether the Stranger is really Gandalf or not because, as the novel says, Gandalf should not come this early. They are supposed to come in the Third Age, while The Ring of the Power covers the beginning of the Second Age.
Undoubtedly, Gandalf, Saruman, and Radagast will be the three wizards to be introduced in the series because these are the famous wizards mentioned in the book who will help to shape the fate of the world. However, in The Lord of the Rings, the powers of the Wizards are vast, and most of their powers are undefined. But none of them are introduced this early. Therefore, if the Stranger is really Gandalf, the series has made a huge change.
- Gandalf is known as Gandalf the Grey. He possesses great knowledge and magical powers. He always travels, and the main focus of this life is to counter Sauron.
- Saruman is known as Saruman the White. In the Lord of the Rings, he is described as the leader of the White Council and of Istari. His main aim is to take Middle-earth by force by capturing Sauron’s power. His powers are corrupted, and he refuses the chance of redemption when offered.
- Radagast the Brown doesn’t have a critical impact on the storyline. He appears for a short time. However, he has some outstanding abilities like Skills with Herbs, Communing with Animals, and the Shamanistic ability to change his color and shape.
You should find these wizards in The Rings of Power Series. The roles of Gandalf and Saruman will affect the story’s progression. Daniel Weyman is playing the role of the Stranger, and if the Stranger is really Gandalf, then he will be seen playing the role of the Wizard as well.
