There are several ways to level up your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. You can use them in battle, have them in auto-battle with the Let’s Go feature, or give them items like XP candies. But now, you can also split the EXP earned after each Pokémon battle equally among all the Pokémon in your party, even if you rarely take them out. In this guide, we will see how the EXP sharing feature works and what it is in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
What is EXP Share in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Since Pokémon X and Y, the EXP sharing feature has made its way across all games hereinafter, and all non-fainted Pokémon in a party will get equal shares of the XP earned after battle. Here we will see more about the workings of the XP-sharing feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

EXP sharing is a process where all EXP earned after battle will not be given solely to the winning Pokémon, but rather it will be distributed between all Pokémon in a party. There are some pros and cons to this situation. If you have Pokémon that you hardly use, but still want to level up, this is a great way to passively gain XP for that Pokémon. The drawback to this is that your most preferred Pokémon will be leveling up a bit slower since all XP doesn’t go to it. To compensate, you need to feed it XP candies and use the Let’s Go feature to make it battle more than the others.
To enable XP sharing, you just have to place other Pokémon alongside the main Pokémon in your party. The XP sharing will be automatically enabled and will distribute XP after every battle. Currently, there is no way to disable it, so you have to use this feature throughout the game.
