The unable to summon cooperator message pops up when players try to summon other players into their world, to either complete quests or to defeat a tough boss. To summon other players, you will first need to make sure you have enough Furlcalling Finger Remedy, which can easily be crafted or gotten in drops from enemies or bought from NPCs. Once you have that and you are still not being able to summon anyone else, you will have to do some basic troubleshooting.
- Check Internet Connection
- Check Server Status
- Reset Modem
- Disable Cross-Region Matchmaking
- Verify Integrity of Game Files
Once you have this all down, there is only so much else you can do, since the issue at hand revolves around server overcrowding. When you summon a player but couldn’t grab hold of them on time, they are instantly picked up by other players, hence giving you the error message. You can try spamming the summon sign till you get to pick up a player, or if playing with friends, set up two passwords so they will not be taken away at the first chance. Some players have mentioned that after beating Margit they were able to have better chances at the summons. If all else fails, you can just summon an NPC to help you tackle the level.
So far there is no more information from the developers if this issue is being looked into, but since this is a server overcrowding problem, you can try playing the game at some other time of the day, or contact support.
