Phasmophobia All Ghost Types | Strength, Weakness, and Evidence
As mentioned earlier, Phasmophobia is still in early access, which means limited features as the game is still under development. Some of the features of the game may not work as intended. However, even with the early development, the game already has 12 ghosts, which is a good number. Here are all ghosts we have encountered so far in Phasmophobia and their strengths and weaknesses.
Spirit
Spirits are a common occurrence in Phasmophobia and can be found in places with unexplained death. While a Spirit does not have any particular strength, they can still be a handful when you encounter them in their hunting grounds. Spirits have a weakness for Smudge Sticks. If you use one the ghost won’t bother you for a long duration. Spirit Box, Fingerprints, and Ghost Writing are evidence of the presence of a Spirit at the site.
Phantom
Generally, an Ouija Board summons the Phantom and the ghost can possess living humans. When encountered with a ghost of this type, don’t look straight at it or your sanity will decline rapidly. Taking a photo makes the ghost disappear. Ability to drop sanity when looked at directly is one of Phantoms strengths. It weakness is disappears when a photo is taken.
EMF Level 5, Ghost Orbs, and Freezing Temperatures are evidence of the presence of a Phantom at the site.
Banshee
A deadly ghost due to its nature to stalk and pick off people one at a time. These are natural hunters and quite fatal. Banshee will attack anything at sight, but has a weakness – crucifix. The ghost will mellow down when near a crucifix. It’s ability to target individual players is its strength.
EMF level 5, Fingerprints, and Freezing Temperatures are evidence of the presence of a Banshee at the site.
Mare
A powerful ghost in dark, the Mare is responsible for nightmares and feeds off it. When you see the evidence of the ghost, turn on the lights or use torches, it’s the weakness of Mare. Darkness is the strength of the Mare.
Spirit Box, Ghost Orbs, and Freezing Temperatures are evidence of the presence of a Mare at the site.
Shade
These are the shyest ghost of the bunch which makes them harder to find and it’s their strength. If there is more than one person, Shade will halt all activity. Shade will not hunt with multiple players, that’s its weakness.
EMF level 5, Ghost Orb, and Ghost Writing are evidence of the presence of a Shade at the site.
Wraith
You should fear the wrath of the Wrath ghost. The ghost type can go through walls and has the ability to fight. It’s one of the most deadliest of all the ghosts in the game. As the Wraith are levitated, they do not have footprints and cannot be tracked, which is its strength.
Salt is the weakness of the ghost. Fingerprints, Freezing, Temperature, and Spirit Box are evidence of the ghost.
Poltergeist
Instilling fear into the victim is one of its strengths. Causing ruckus by throwing several objects at once is the trait of Poltergeist. As throwing objects is its strength, an empty room with no object is its weakness.
Spirit Box, Fingerprints, and Ghost Orb are evidence of the presence of the Poltergeist in the room.
Jinn
Jinn has an area and attacks when it feels threatened i.e. when you invade its area. It is a far reaching ghost and travels faster when you are away, that’s its strength. Turning off location’s power source is its weakness and prevents the Jinn from its ability.
Spirit Box, Ghost Orbs, and EMF Level 5 are evidence of the presence of the Jinn at the location.
Revenant
A menacing and violent ghost that’s probably the most feared in Phasmophobia as it attacks without provocation and targets indiscriminately. A Revenant is generally slow, but when hunting they can be as fast as the Jinn. Ability to travel fast while hunting is its strength.
It’s weakness is that the hunting mode does not trigger when you are not in sight. The evidence of Revenant is EMF level 5, Fingerprints, and Ghost Writing.
Demon
The Demon is another nemesis that is very aggressive and will attack you more often than any other ghost in the game. It does not require provocation and persistent attack is its strength. The only way to succeed with this ghost is with the help of the Ouija board. You need to ask a successful question to the board, that’s its weakness.
Spirit Box, Ghost Writing, and Freezing Temperature are evidence of the ghost’s presence.
Oni
The aggression and activity of the Oni increases as victims grow closer to it. They are related to Demons and are cousins. As strong as demons, if you stay close for too long their activity increases. Their strength is objects moving at more speed and activity from the player. As the ghost becomes more active they can be identified and that’s its weakness.
EMF level 5, Spirit Box, and Ghost Writing are evidence of the presence of the ghost in the area.
Yurei
Finally, we have the ghost type Yurei, which is vengeful and shelters a deep hatred for victims. It’s strength is it drains your sanity faster than any other ghost. Smudging the room is it’s weakness. Evidence are Ghost Orb, Ghost Writing, and Freezing Temperature.
