Layla has already been officially announced by the Genshin Impact official Twitter and players love her fresh but albeit tired design. Her design and character are unlike any other and most players already find her to be the most relatable character in the game due to the exhaustion in her eyes. For those curious about her kit, this is your lucky day. Her kit has been briefly leaked and players can get a general idea of what she can do. Read on to find out.
Layla Kit Overview in Genshin Impact 3.2
The above leak reveals her to be a Cryo sword user. Her E skill makes a shield like Diona’s and in the process, she “makes stars” that deal Cryo DMG. Her elemental burst makes a small AoE with a “big thing” in the middle that deals Cryo DMG similar to Lisa’s Q. She also scales off of HP like Thoma.
We already have a Cryo shielder in Diona and we already have an AoE Cryo DMG burst with Rosaria so Layla’s kit seems a little underwhelming in comparison. Her viability will depend on her damage scaling and ICD but for now, this looks like a 4-star kit. She may even go on to join Genshin’s recent string of underwhelming 4-star units that have only niche uses.
Both Layla’s E skill and Q fits nicely into the support role but her numbers are still unknown and players can’t trust her until they see her full kit. Since she’s another HP-scaling shielder, you can probably swap your Diona’s artifacts onto her to test her out when she finally comes in for testing. Hopefully, she will function well in Fridge teams but as of yet she still remains a rookie.
Some leakers claim that since she’s a Cryo shielder and she’s paired with Nahida- perhaps they’ll synergise well despite not being able to interact with each other’s elements. Since Cryo doesn’t react with Dendro, this will likely be a good shield for Dendro comps as it won’t disrupt their elemental reactions. Layla releases in Version 3.2 so we can only know for sure then.
