Weather and environmental effects can threaten your plans, as different elements will give you different buffs and debuffs. You should always check what sort of weather you will be up against, and plan your strategy accordingly. Below are all the weather effects you will encounter in the game

| Clear weather | No effect |
| Heat | Characters will lose action points and energy while receiving wounds, leading to collapse |
| Firestorm | Reduced visibility. Any character that stands close to a source of fire will lose energy and action points during combat, leading to collapse |
| Dust Storm | Enemies will get the Concealment buff at a certain range. Any ranged attack towards concealed enemies will result in grazed hits. Increases cover but also increases movement cost |
| Rain | Weapons might jam and lose condition. Hearing is reduced or impaired |
| Heavy Rain | Weapons become less durable, leading to jamming. Any throwable equipment might be missed. Hearing becomes difficult and aiming costs increase |
| Fog | Enemies get a Concealment buff at a certain distance. Visibility is reduced |
| Underground/Night | Combating enemies underground or at night will be difficult to spot. Any ranged attack, except point black, will incur visibility and accuracy penalties. |
The day/night cycle does not affect the weather, so regardless of what time of the day it is, if the weather condition is met, you will face the above buffs or debuffs.
