Thymesia’s special combat mechanic lets you take your opponent’s weapons and turn them into yours temporarily. These temporary weapons are called Reave Weapons, and while you have them, you can get the same weapon abilities from them. In this guide, we will see how to effectively use Reave Weapons in Thymesia.
How to Use Reave Weapons in Thymesia
Reave weapons are quite handy to use during the time you don’t have Plague weapons with you. Here we will see how to equip Reave weapons effectively in Thymesia.

While in the early game you do have some abilities like Saber, Deflect, and your common unlockable Talents, you will need something more powerful to defeat your opponent. In Thymesia, you can “take” your opponent’s weapon in a mechanic called Reaving. Reave Weapons are temporary and can be used only one time. They cannot be upgraded because of their temporary status, so you can only use them for a limited time. If Reave Weapons stay inactive for a certain amount of time, they will be deactivated and you won’t get to use them again.
To get Reave Weapons, you have to face your opponent in battle and use the Claw technique to snatch the weapon from them. You can unlock various versions of the Claw from the Talent tree. Once you get close to your opponent, use your Claw to take their weapon. This can get handy if you are fighting tough bosses, as using their weapons against them can give you added benefits.
You can only equip one Reave weapon at a time, so in case you snatched up two of them, the last Reave weapon that you acquire will be stacked up. You can use Reave weapons in combination with Plague weapons, and Reave weapons don’t cost any energy and such to use them. Although, if left unused for some time, Reave weapons will disappear.
