Since the game has not yet been officially released, there is not much information about where you can come across the first Base Camp in Legends: Arceus. Due to the nature of how Pokémarts and Pokémon Centers were discovered, it could be deduced that you can unlock your first Base Camp when you join your first research task. For that, you will have to play the game for an hour till you can get an invitation from the Galaxy Expedition Team and get your first task.
What is Base Camp Used for in Pokémon Legends Arceus?
For now, there are four uses for Base Camps in Pokémon Legends Arceus.
Healing
Since they are essentially just a replacement for Pokémon Centers, you and your Pokémon can come here to get healed. If you faint while in battle, you will be brought to your nearest Base Camp.
Crafting
You can use the workbench in the Base Camp to craft new items. To craft an item, you will need the appropriate resources and materials for it. Crafting items can help you with your research as well as in battle.
Sleeping
You can use the Base Camps to get some sleep as you wait to catch Pokémon that only appear at specific times. You can choose any time you want, just head down to the Base Camp and sleep till your time is up.
Reporting Task Progress
Once you are a part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, you will be tasked with finding all the Pokémon in the Hisui region and updating your Pokédex. Professor Laventon will help you with the updates, and you will have to visit him occasionally in Base Camps.
