Begin the Tanuki Hunt in Ghostwire: Tokyo
In Ghostwire: Tokyo, you will be expected to complete tasks as part of your main story mission as you advance through the chapters, and one of them will involve cleansing or purifying the shrines of Tokyo to help relieve the city of the virus. You will need to cleanse the Shiroyama Shrine where you will find some new characters that will provide you with some side quests.

There are new characters to interact with after you complete the task of purifying the Shiroyama Shrine, so look outside the Shrine to begin the new quest. You will be meeting with the boss of the Tanuki, which is a gang in Tokyo, and he will tell you to look for the rest of the Tanuki, which is the Tanuki Hunt side mission. To complete this quest you will need to look for them all.
Tanuki are essentially small animals in Ghostwire: Tokyo, and you can find them scattered all over the game map. There are 25 of them that you need to find to complete this quest. Once you have found the first one, you will have completed the tutorial part of the quest and need to return to the Tanuki boss to be tasked with finding the rest.
You can find the first Tanuki by going outside the Shrine and looking for a pot with a tail sticking out of it. When you interact with it, the Tanuki will emerge from its hidden location. Now that you have the first Tanuki, you can return to the boss and finish the initial quest.
