Ghostwire: Tokyo seems like a rather short game that can be completed in about a dozen hours if you’re a dedicated player. While the game mostly has a linear progression for the storyline, it expands the city of Shibuya by becoming akin to an open-world map in Chapters 3 and 4. Players have a lot more freedom on what they want to do in the middle chapters of the game, before the game closes down into a more linear progression once more. Additionally, the playing time depends on how many side missions you complete as they’re not essential to completing the main game.
How Many Chapters are there in Ghostwire: Tokyo
If you’re a more thorough player and want to complete all the side missions and find every collectible there is, it might take up to 20 hours or more to finish this game. If you’re interested in the lore behind the game and in Japanese spirit culture, it’s definitely worth investing a little more time to see how it all pans out.

As for the main quests, they are divided into chapters, and you can unlock each chapter only after you’ve completed all the tasks that the storyline tells you to. The first two chapters are short and are intended to act as an extended tutorial for the later chapters. In Chapters 1 and 2, there is a definite order to things, but you can be a little more creative with the next two chapters. There are a total of six chapters in the campaign, and the last two chapters become linear again with the player completing quests as they come up, so make sure to explore the world as much as possible before you complete the tasks in Chapter 4.
