For starters, you need to have the initial Overwatch game installed on your PC. If preloading is available, then Battle.net will automatically pick up on the updated version and install it for you. In case that didn’t happen, you can follow the steps below to enable the auto download.
- Launch Battle.net
- Click on Settings in the Battle.net menu
- You can find this icon on the top right corner
- Click on Downloads to find all the Game Settings
- Under Automatic Updates, enable the Apply Latest Updates option
If the update doesn’t start, you need to check whether you have enough space for the update, as it will take up to 50GB worth of storage to download the game.
Now, anytime there is an update for any game, it will be automatically downloaded. This works to update Overwatch to Overwatch 2 as well.
