Before you begin, you need to unlock the Crop Plot to start your farming adventure. You can find the Crop Plot crafting structure under the Tech menu, once you scroll down to Structures. You need to unlock the Crop Plot and place it in a designated area to start farming. Once that is done, you have to collect seeds. You can find seeds while scavenging and obtaining it from plants in the overworld. Not all fruits, vegetables, and flowers will give seeds, so you have to find the ones that do and collect them.

Now that you have your seeds, you can quickly plant it in your crop plot. Planting seeds have a different mechanic in the game. To plant seeds, you need to move the seed from your inventory into your hotbar. Next, select the seed in the hotbar to equip it. Go over to the plot and hover over it, you will find certain spots that turn green when you move your mouse over the crop plot. Press the mouse button to toss the seeds into the plot. You can now water the plant and wait for it to sprout.
