A Timeworm Crimson Horn is a tricky monster drop. In the recently released expansion pack of Monster Hunter Rise called “Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak” the Daimyo Hermitaur is the first monster players face- whether they are solo or in a group. The Timeworm Crimson Horn is one of the tricky drops of this monster as you don’t need to outright kill it to obtain it. Veteran players and fans of Monster Hunter will remember fighting this monster in their previous series and so it adds to the nostalgia to have it as the first monster in this new MHRise series.
How to Get the Timeworm Crimson Horn in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
The Daimyo Hermitaur is a crab nestled in a wyvern’s skull. It looks like an unassuming wyvern skull at first until the monster turns around and reveals its crab claws and starts attacking you. Since this is the first monster you face you will of course be required to kill it in your first encounter. However, in your further encounters with this monster, you can attack it in specific places to get the loot or item you want.
To get the specific drop of a Timeworm Crimson Horn you will have to specifically attack and break the wyvern skull at its back. Once the skull breaks, you’ll have a high chance to obtain this item as one of the drops of this broken skull. If not then rinse and repeat. The skull is extremely thick and you’ll need a blunt weapon to bludgeon it apart. The chance of a Timeworm Crimson Horn dropping by this method is a solid 90%.
If you attempt to capture the device instead then it’s advisable to break off its wyvern skull before it is ready to be captured. This method, however, only has a 10% chance of success.
