The Fire and Poison Type Pokemon Salandit resembles a lizard, and has gender differentiations in physical appearance. You will need to use the same procedure to catch both male and female Salandits, however. They are mostly found in caves.
The first thing that you need to do if you want to catch Salandit in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is to make your way to its habitat locations, which include the regions in the north, northeast, northwest, and southwest of Paldea. You just need to look in caves at any of these areas.
One cave that stands out particularly is the one which is northeast of the map, and you will come across it if you are traveling from Porto Marinada to Medali. There are several Salandits spawning in this cave, so you just need to approach them to catch these Pokemon.
Salandits are weak against Ground, Water, Psychic and Rock Type Pokemon, so make sure to have these in your team. Catch the Pokemon when its health is low, and you will have captured a Salandit.
