Green Hell takes us on an adventure to the deep jungle where we have to fight for our own survival and face the challenges, dangers, and mysteries of the dark green hell. We will have to explore, hunt, and survive in this hostile environment that can be as dangerous as any sniper rifle. First, it was released on Steam Early in Access on August 29, 2018. The developer, Creepy Jar, has since improved the game with new features and content. After a while, they decided to launch it on other platforms. As of April 7, 2022, Green Hell VR is finally available on Oculus Quest 2.
Green Hell VR Plot
The story mode is quite generic, centered on a couple Jake and Mia Higgins who decided to return to the Amazonian Rainforest in search of answers to the investigation they are organizing. To do this, they have to get in touch with a tribe. Unfortunately for them, things did not go as planned…
The gameplay itself is challenging but extremely rewarding. It all starts with a quick tutorial to teach you the basics. But once you get into the game properly, you’ll soon find out that there’s no hand-holding from there on out! You will have to learn how to survive by yourself it will take time and effort but I’m sure you can do it!
The game emphasizes health management from multiple angles: from providing us with the right food and water (which also involves knowledge of plants and animals), to treating injuries in time, even if you are injured. , You should not walk around with bandages because your health will be reduced faster than usual. We must also pay attention to temperature changes. Don’t let your body temperature drop too much or get too hot and gastrointestinal problems will occur.
Unlike other games in the genre, Green Hell VR also focuses on mental health as well as your physical health. The game is set up so that there are three types of resources that need to be managed: your health, your hunger, and your thirst. In order to control these resources, we will have a smartwatch that allows us to view our status in real-time. In addition to being able to see these three features, it tells us the time and our coordinates so we can stay on track.
As for its graphical aspect, it’s more than decent for an indie VR game. The lighting effects are great and the vegetation looks realistic as well. The sound effects also add to the immersion factor. The Cutscenes look smooth with no frame drops at all.
