You will unlock the quest to find Fritjof after finding the Grenhellir Dwarven Shelter. After accepting the quest, you would have to travel to Uldar in search of him. You can check your map for the marker to find him. This will lead you to a ransacked house, but you won’t find him here. Instead, search around and you will find some letters that will tell you about Fritjof’s whereabouts. This will lead you to the Smelting Foundry. Go up to the second floor and into the chamber where the uncut gemstones are. There is another entryway nearby that you can go through, defeat the Muspel Warriors in the area but watch out for the lava pools underneath. After that, you will come to an area that houses some jailed dwarves. One of them is Tyra, who you will have to bring out the Foundry.
She will then take you on her boat to cross the river and tell you more about Fritjof. Once you reach the land and continue forward by following Tyra. You will soon reach the Fornama Dig Site where Fritjof is held captive. You will have to sneak down to his cage, but you will need the key to set him free. You can find the key by heading west of the Site, you will soon find some stairs that lead down to lava-infested pools. The key is on the ground in one of the small clearings. Go back and free Fritjof and carry him back to Tyra.
