Ubisoft games mostly have their problem where it does not detect the right graphics card on your computer and results in the no compatible driver/hardware found. We have a post from when Hyper Scape was first released and had the same problem of no compatible driver found. You can refer to the post as the fix there also applies in this case. If you have run into the Rainbow Six Extraction ‘No compatible driver/hardware found,’ here is what you need to do.
Rainbow Six Extraction No Compatible Driver/Hardware Found Fix
The first fix you must try is for laptop users as most users who have been reporting this problem either are on a laptop with two GPUs or desktop users who have two GPUs. If the game is failing to detect the dedicated GPU and uses the integrated GPU, the game won’t run. It’s probably due to the fact that the integrated GPU/Intel GPU does not or may not support Vulkan Graphics API.
Disable Integrated Graphics Card
If that’s the case, the fix for the Rainbow Six Extraction no compatible driver/hardware found is quite easy. You need to disable the integrated GPU. Once it’s disabled, the game will automatically detect the dedicated GPU, which might be Nvidia or AMD for most users. Here is what you need to do to disable the integrated GPU.
- Press Windows Key + X and chose Device Manger
- Expand the Display Adapter and right-click on the Intel GPU
- Choose Disable Device.
Once you have successfully run the game, you can enable the GPU again as the game will detect the dedicated GPU from here on.
Update the OS, GPU Driver, and Ensure you Meet the Requirments
If the above solution did not work to resolve the error, ensure that your GPU supports the Vulkan Graphics API or meets the minimum requirement to play the game. If it does, then, you probably need to update the OS as well as the GPU driver to fix the error. If the game is crashing for you, check out the link for fixes.
Update 21 Jan to Fix R6Extraction No Compatible Driver/Hardware Found
If you are still struggling with the error, you should know that the issue has been acknowledged by Ubisoft as a day-one problem with the game and the fix is in the works. Ubisoft has suggested two solutions, which we already covered in the post – to use the dedicated GPU and update the GPU. Here are some additional solutions that we think may help you.
- When updating the GPU, perform a clean install. You will get the option to perform a clean isntall when you launch the installation or update wizard. You will also get the option when you update through GeForce Experience.
- If the game is still failing to launch, here is something you can do if it applies to you i.e. you have AMD.
- First, update the AMD Radeon GPU driver
- Use Windows Search to find ‘Advanced System Settings‘
- Click on ‘View advanced system settings‘
- Click on ‘Environment Variables‘
- Under ‘System Valiables,’ click on New
- Enter Variable Name as DISABLE_LAYER_AMD_SWITCHABLE_GRAPHICS_1
- Enter Variable Value as 1
- Click Ok to save
- Select Ok again and exit.
- Run the game with admin permission
- Run the game after a clean boot
- Verify Game files
These are the best solutions you can try until the devs fix the R6Extraction No Compatible Driver/Hardware Found error.
Any update on when the update is coming? I still can’t get onto the game and it’s been 4 days now…
