If the Outriders Worldslayer DLC has been crashing for you. You may try to apply the below solutions.
How to Fix Outriders Worldslayer Crash, Crash at Startup, and Stuck at Loading Screen
As this is a multiplayer and online game, one of the most probable cause of Outriders crash can be a problem with your internet connection. If your internet bandwidth fluctuates lower than the playable limit for online games, it may be the likely cause of the game crashing. As such, the first fix you should try is to play on a stable internet connection. Other solutions for the Outriders crash at startup, stuck at loading screen, and general in-game crash are listed below.
Play on Wired Connection
Ensure that you play the game using a wired connection and the internet does not cut off mid-game. Wi-Fi and mobile internet can be problematic with the game. If are already on a wired connection, try playing the game using a different ISP or use the mobile internet. If the game works, the problem is with the ISP and you need to get in touch with them.
However, there are a range of other causes that can crash a game at startup.
Update the Graphics Card Drivers
When the game is crashing, the most obvious cause can be an outdated or corrupt graphics card drivers. Ensure that you have installed the NVidia 461.72 Game Ready Driver. While performing the update, choose a clean install. While you are at it, also ensure that the operating system is updated. Go to the Windows Update settings and install all the available updates.
If you are already on the 461.72, try rolling back to the 461.40 version and check if that addresses the issue.
Now, restart the PC and try to play the game. Check if the Outriders in-game crash and crash at startup still happens.
Try Limiting the FPS
A fluctuating FPS can also cause problem with the GPU leading it to crash. You can limit the FPS of the game at 30 and check the performance. Increase the FPS by monitoring the performance. Currently, the game is having FPS issues with the cutscene being locked at 30. Go to the NVidia control panel or AMD settings and set a limit on the FPS.
Run the Game in Windowed Mode or Windowed Fullscreen
Playing the game on fullscreen consumes more resources, which can over-exhausted the GPU or the CPU leading to crash. One of the simplest fixes is to run the game in Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen mode. It has been noted that the crashing problem with Outriders escalates when the user is running the game in Fullscreen mode. It can also causes the long load time. If you are crashing on Inventory, the crash can reduce when on Windowed Fullscreen.
Run Outriders in the Clean Boot Environment
Sometimes third-party software running in the background can either interfere with the game’s processes or consume too many resources, which can cause a game to crash. As such, try to launch the game after a clean boot. Follow the steps carefully and as instructed. Don’t hurry the process or you may be locked out of your system.
- Press Windows Key + R and type msconfig, hit Enter
- Go to the Services tab
- Check Hide all Microsoft services
- Now, click Disable all
- Go to the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager
- Disable one task at a time and restart the system.
Now, attempt to run the game and check if the Outriders crash, crash at startup, crashing to desktop, stuck at loading screen, and black screen problems are fixed.
Do not Overclock
OC can destabilize the system leading to random crashes. One of the main reason a game can crash is if you are overclocking. Whether it’s OC using software like MSI Afterburner or from the BIOS. Run the game with chipset manufacturers recommended settings for the clock speed.
Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019
Reinstalling the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, and 2019 to fix crash at startup. To perform the steps, you must follow the guidelines set by Microsoft. Here are the steps.

- Download and install both the x86: vc_redist.x86.exe and x64: vc_redist.x64.exe
- After the download is complete, install the software following on-screen prompts.
Now, try playing Outriders and check if the error appears.
Update or reinstall DirectX files
Another reason Outriders crashes on startup or is not launching is the corruption of the DirectX installation. If there is a problem with DirectX, the game won’t launch and as soon as you try to launch it, the game will crash. To fix the issue, you need to update the DirectX to the most recent version. Follow the link to download the latest DirectX.
Repair corrupt game files
When the game files are corrupt, the game will crash, either at startup or mid-game. Steam has a feature that can repair corrupt game files. It’s quicker than reinstalling the entire game. Here are the steps you can follow.
Launch the Steam Client > go to Library > right-click Outriders > Properties > Go to Local Files > click on Verify Integrity of Game Files
Wait for the process to complete and check if issues are resolved.
Disable Steam Overlay
If the game crashes right after the intro video, the cause of the problem can be the Steam Overlay. This feature has been known to act up with some games. You can resolve the error by disabling the Steam Overlay. Launch Steam client. Click on Library and right-click on P5S. Select Properties and uncheck Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
Reboot Steam and check if the in-game crash still occurs. If the problem still persists, disable the GeForce Experience and Discord Overlay.
Reinstall the game
If the error is still not fixed, your final option is to reinstall the game. Go to the Steam Library and uninstall the game. Clear the Steam cache and reinstall the game. If the issue still occurs after a reinstall, follow the next fix to submit an enquiry with Square Enix.

hi im on steam game crashing just ramdon time with worldslayer but when i uninstall the game fine no crash run perfect try everthing still nothing fix it any help ??
I got outriders downloaded on my Xbox 1 and outriders servers not connecting
you talk about steam, my blackscreen issues are with epic game store 🙁
The first thing we suggest is launching the game in a clean boot environment, so you are sure there are no third-party applications causing the issue. The black screen is often due to the system not providing the necessary horsepower to run the game, so ensure the client meets the system specifications. If it does, try running the game in Windowed Mode. Go to the game’s Additional Command Line Arguments and type -windowed to launch in windowed mode. Also, NVIDIA has released a new driver with day-one support for the game. Install the driver update. If you have the latest driver, try rolling back.
If none of the above solutions worked, you should know there are reports of the Epic version of the game being broken, or it may just be the launcher. Users who refunded on Epic and got it from Steam were able to play without any issues.
You have NO Solutions for Console players
Disable the Crossplay and try to play the game solo. That should help with the crashes. Also, ensure the internet connection is persistent. We will do a guide for PlayStation in the coming few days.
