While Outriders: Worldslayer is best enjoyed in small teams or divisions with a few friends, it absolutely can be played solo. This update retains the scaling mechanism where the world proportionally increases the enemy difficulty and enemy tactics depending on the number of players present in the world. All enemy encounters change their setups depending on the number of players to accommodate power combos. The endgame encounters are usually meant for a group of 3 players. Even so, the scaling is in effect in case a player decides to solo the endgame bosses- though in this case it would be exponentially difficult and the player would need to have a strong and ideal build for their playstyle to clear it.
The Ideal Class for a Solo Playthrough
The Technomancer class is ideal for solo players for its versatility and survivability. This class heals a small portion of their health with each instance of damage dealt. It also has a few other skills in its kit that allow it to heal not only your own character but also your allies. This class specializes in long-range damage which is ideal because it keeps you away from your enemies while still dealing tons of damage to finish them off.
It allows you to freeze your enemies in place with the large AoE of Cold Snap and then shoot them down with the plethora of long-range assault weapons available for use. With the recent Outriders: Worldslayer update we now have a second but much smaller skill tree which gives major buffs to your attack and damage and can be activated with the 5 PAX points you receive after completing the story quests in this patch. It’s ideal to spend your PAX points and skill points to activate long-range damage multiplying and status inflicting skills to maximize your damage in your solo playthrough. While it may make things easy for the majority of the game content, this surplus damage will be utilized fully in the endgame of a solo run as the bosses and enemies only get tougher to beat. For your ascension stats, it’s ideal to focus on your Prowess first followed by Brutality and Anomaly. Endurance is the last one you should focus on as it only increases your already high survivability.
The best weapon for the Technomancer class is still the Assault Rifle- Tactical Variant which has a 3-round burst. For your weapon and gear mods, it’s best to focus on damage maximizing mods that also inflict a ton of status effects like Freeze, Toxic, Bleed, and Burn. It’s also important to look for mods like Omen that allow for cover and armor-piercing damage.
While other classes too allow for strong dynamic builds ideal for a solo run, the Technomancer class still has the highest survivability which is ideal for looter shooter games like these. Its long-range capabilities, crowd control skills and constant healing makes it the most preferred class for a solo playthrough.
