Halo Infinite is still a few weeks away from release, but the game dropped yesterday without notice and to the surprise of fans. Well, most of us knew the game would arrive early thanks to some leaks. As the game is still in beta, errors are bugs are common. One of the issues players are reporting is the Halo Infinite low FPS, stuttering, and lag. The permanent fix can only come from the devs as they optimize the game. But, there are certain things you can do on your end that can help improve the game’s performance and boost FPS.
Halo Infinite Low FPS, Stuttering, and Lag Fix
The low FPS and stuttering in-game go hand in hand most of the time. Here are some solutions that can help you improve the FPS and performance of Halo Infinite on PC.
- Don’t use overlays
- GeForce, Discord, or other overlays can cause all sorts of problems with games especially stuttering.
- Ensure that your internet connection is iddeal for playing the game. Try to play the game on a wired connection.
- Turn off Min and Max frame rate from the Settings. By default the Min frame rate of the game is set to 30 FPS. You can also set the Min frame rate to 60 and Max to Unlimited. Doing either of the two will improve the FPS in-game. (Note: Settings the Min FPS too high or to the native supported FPS will sacrifice resolution.) But, this is the most effective fix to boost FPS in Halo Infinite.
- Enable the Game Mode from Windows Settings. The game mode can sometimes improve performance, but it also works the other way around. If you have it enabled, disable it and see if that makes a difference.
- Press Windows Key + I, go to Gaming > Game Mode
- Run the game in Fullscreen mode.
- Unless you have a very powerful PC, don’t use the Capture section of the Gaming section on your PC to record games. If you don’t need it, don’t record games at all. It has a significant impact on performance and FPS.
- From the Gaming section, also disable the Xbox Game Bar.
- Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling
- Windows Key + I > System > Display > Graphics > click on Change default graphic settings > turn on Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling
That’s all we have in this guide. We hope that the above solutions have helped improve the FPS and performance of Halo Infinite.
