We’ve already shared the early impressions of the characters coming in the next upcoming Version 3.1 Update. Alongside characters, Genshin Impact is also releasing some new 5-star weapons, a new 4-star gacha weapon set and 1 free event weapon in the next patch. In this article, we’re going to discuss their early impressions from the players of Genshin Impact Version 3.1’s beta testing.
Upcoming Weapons Early Impressions from Genshin Impact Version 3.1 Beta
The upcoming weapons from Genshin Impact are catered to synergise with the upcoming Sumeru characters and to the Dendro elemental reactions in general. They are mainly EM-focused considering how Dendro scales off of Elemental Mastery and they are more than likely going to be the best-in-slots for many upcoming Sumeru characters in one way or another.
5-Star Weapons
The 5-star weapons and their early impressions are as follows:
Key of Hierophany
A sword limited in scope to Nilou almost entirely, but for her it’s an absolutely massive boost, enabling her to be played as the main carry rather than as a buffer.
As such a niche weapon this likely won’t be favoured among players unless they really want to play Nilou and have the resources to invest as much to build her with her signature weapon.
Staff of the Scarlet Sands
Extremely versatile spear, the EM equivalent of Engulfing Lightning. Should be a great option on units Hu Tao, Xiangling and of course Cyno himself.
Players are much more likely to pull for this one as it could be a great option for plenty support polearm users- even Burgeon Thoma could benefit from this weapon in all likelihood.
4-Star Weapons
The early impressions for upcoming 4-star weapons are as follows:
Xiphos’ Moonlight
Extremely strong. An outstanding sword for any EM units, as it both provides EM, eliminates any ER issues, and provides a team ER buff at the same time.
This could be a great weapon for support sword users like Xinqiu, or Kaeya who facilitate a lot of reactions. This could also be good on Jean as her Swirls will hit much harder while also giving her ER for getting her burst back up for heals.
Mahara Aquamarine
Solid claymore which provides a load of EM and ATK for both the holder and some for the team. Good option for units who want lots of both stats, for example Diluc.
This could be a great weapon on Beidou or Chongyun even considering how they can both be used as damage and reaction supports or even as dps units.
Wandering Evenstar
Exactly the same as its sister weapon above, except catalyst version. Good option for units who want lots of both stats, for example Heizou.
This could also be a great weapon for Yanfei, Yae Miko and such other reactive dps catalyst users.
Shifting Windblade
Generic event spear. Should be more than usable on a lot of units, but is far from an optimal choice.
As for the free event weapon, we’ll still have to confirm how good it is as a F2P weapon. The Dodoco Tales is a great F2P weapon for example and we’ll have to see if this one comes any close.
The three weapons that belong to the set should be released in the upcoming weapon banner. Despite how good their early impressions seem, players won’t be pulling for just these weapons and are likely to aim for the new 5-star weapons. Overall this new gacha weapon set for Sumeru looks good and it will require more testing to see if they become the best-in-slot for upcoming characters or even some older characters.
