Cyno is a confirmed upcoming Electro character in Genshin Impact Version 3.1. Leaks have already revealed him to be a pure Electro DPS unit who wields a polearm and has a gameplay style similar to Razor. His kit and numbers have already been leaked and so were his constellations. In this article, we’re going to discuss how his overall gameplay feels in the hands of a veteran player who’s part of the Version 3.1 Beta Program for Genshin Impact.
Cyno Early Impressions in Version 3.1 Beta
According to the leak, Cyno is an Electro Hypercarry so we can expect him to be on par with Yae Miko and Keqing- maybe even Raiden Shogun if we’re stretching it. His E skill will have a short cooldown thus allowing him to use it multiple times in a battle. This does indeed remove the need for building ER on him but we’ll only know that after knowing his Burst energy cost.
Cyno will also embody Genshin’s latest character design philosophy of alternative scaling as he scales off of the EM stat. This also automatically makes him a great unit to use with Dendro teammates since he’ll be able to trigger Hyperbloom and Aggravate. His ideal artifact set is likely going to be the 4-piece Thundering Fury as stated in the picture above (as “TF set”).
His high field time requirement seems to be his only issue which isn’t necessarily an issue but just how he is supposed to be played. This would require a careful assigning of his teammates- they must be of purely support nature and must not consume much field time to be useful.
The leaker concludes Cyno isn’t an outstanding unit but he could be- given proper, more nuanced Dendro teammates. As of now, with the current Genshin Impact roster of characters, Cyno isn’t a viable unit without the Dendro Traveler or Collei. There’s always a chance he could get broken once Nahida or Alhaitham releases since we all know they are both already confirmed Dendro characters.
