Dinkum is a farming simulation game where you can hunt, mine, fish and gather important resources to build your town. There are a lot of achievements to get, and villagers to unlock. You can also play with your friends in the co-op version of the game. This guide will take you through a question you might have, which is, can you pause time in Dinkum?
Can You Pause Time in Dinkum?
If you’re familiar with survival games, you will recognize the much-needed element of time in Dinkum. The game begins on day 1, and as you explore the island and complete the tasks you are given, you will notice that there is a time at the top left corner of your screen.

The minutes take two seconds or two to pass, so you’re on a clock. As it stands, the game time is 17 hours, so with two seconds per minute, you’re looking at about 35 minutes of play time. Unless you play through the night as well.
After player feedback, the devs have finally added an option to pause time in the game. You can access it by hitting the Escape button, clicking on Options, and then Pause.
Note that this option is only for Single Player mode right now. If you click on Pause, your day won’t advance forward. When you’re ready to return to your game again, it will be just the way you left it.
This article isn’t accurate for single player. If you are playing in single player, hit escape, go to the options tab, then click the pause button.
Hi, thanks for your comment! The devs added the pause button a few hours ago, so we’ve updated the article accordingly.
