After the release of Madden 22, EA promised a lot of things like the scouting update and they also announced two more significant Franchise updates after the launch as well.
With an entirely redesigned scouting system, it was evident for players to expect a similar quality of upgrades in the other two of the three post-launch Franchise updates.
All of these promises started falling apart pretty much from the start, as the scouting update that they had promised to drop in September landed a full month later in the middle of October, which is nearly two months after the game was available to play.
Madden 22 Franchise Mode promises were made even before the release of Madden 21
The Madden 22 players have been dealing with a bug since the game’s launch. We still don’t exactly know what is actually causing the problem. The issue is that Players will try to access their football team franchise in Franchise mode and it won’t open. No matter what they do, even reinstalling Madden 22 doesn’t work. The save files for their Franchise mode teams become corrupted and unusable.
This is a very unacceptable error because Franchise mode in Madden is supposed to be the place where players go to have a long, uninterrupted football experience. The Franchises can have multiple seasons across multiple years, and yet their saves get corrupted without warning. They will lose all of their progress and are left with no other option but to start over.
Electronic Arts have acknowledged that there is an issue. There also seems to be an apparent fix in the works as of now, though it has not been confirmed yet when the fix will be issued to the players. EA’s community manager Blueberry posted a response on EA’s official bug reporting forum stating that they are working on it. There are some reports which show that this bug goes back to at least Madden 21. It’s annoying that it has taken EA so long for the bug to be addressed. At least it seems like EA is paying attention to the reports. There is no word on whether the saves will be recovered or if they will have to start all over again.
That is what we know as of yet about the Franchise mode bug in Madden 22.
Hey Suman, just and FYI, this same bug is back in Madden 23. And we need people to talk about it. If you’ve be up for writing a follow up it would get a TON of attention from users. There are hundreds if not thousands of people already up in arms about it coming back in ’23.
I appreciate you putting a spotlight on this in the first place.
Thanks for the Tip Adrian, we will look into it.
