Every year Destiny 2 kicks in with the Solstice event by introducing new armor, challenges, and a few limited-time events. The event is a celebration of the Traveler’s return after we defeated Ghaul in the Red war expansion. And this year we have a lot to be thankful for especially for defeating Savathun. apparently in the Witch Queen expansion.
This year, nothing has changed and Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes 2022 is back and will be reopening the European Aerial Zone as players celebrate their achievements throughout the universe.
We have listed down everything we know so far about Destiny 2 Solstice 2022.
Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2022 Start Date and Time
According to Bungie’s Weekly TWAB(This Week At Bungie). The solstice event will be a part of season 17 and will begin on July 19. It is expected to start after the weekly reset at 6:00 PM BST/ 1:00 PM ET/ 10:00 AM PST
Solstice Event 2022: New Changes
With the release of the Solstice Event, Destiny 2 will be introducing a new addition which is the Event card. At the moment, we do not have much information regarding it, but it seems to be resembling the already existing season pass and will add in new challenges, achievements, and triumph seals.
Unfortunately, this certain addition will not be free and will cost 1000 silver, but the rewards it offers are estimated to be around 3000 silver so you could say it is absolutely worth it.
Those who are not planning to buy this Event card won’t be missing on much as all the rewards offered are merely cosmetics and don’t change any gameplay aspect.
Armor Upgrade Changes
If you are familiar with the Solstice event, you should probably know that Solstice is nothing but a huge grind fest for armors with the best stats and looks. Players have to engage in various activities and complete challenges to upgrade their solstice armor which is time-consuming and at times feels not worth it. So if you are one of those guardians who still have an empty progress bar on your old solstice armor, this change is for you.
Bungie has overhauled the Armor upgrades and will be introducing a reroll feature. After upgrading an armor, you will have the option to reroll its stats and these stats will be shared across all the future drops
Players will earn kindling after completing certain challenges and use it to permanently upgrade the armor stat roll potential and also earn Silver leaves simultaneously.
In terms of weapons, the Solstice 2022 will be a hand cannon according to leaks we have received so far.
New Limited Time Mode: Bonfire Bash
Destiny 2 will be reopening the European Aerial Zone and will be adding a new mode called the Bonfire Bash.
In this event, Guardians will be building and stoking paracausal bonfires while the enemies such as Taken, Cabal, Hive, or Fallen will be attempting to stop you and extinguish the fire. This may sound similar to modes from other games, as preventing waves of hoards from reaching a certain point of interest.
So far, this is all the information we have on Solstice 2022.
