While in the early stages of the game, the only way you can collect sap is by cutting trees. You need to cut the trees to reach the tree stump, and you need to cut the stump as well. Doing this method can give you wood as well as sap. But this is quite time-consuming, especially when you need to collect a larger amount of sap. Another way to collect sap is by crafting the Tree Tap.
To craft the Tree Tap, you need a level 4 in Forgery Mastery first. You can check your levels under the Mastery option in the menu. Once you reach level 4, you can head over to the crafting option and select the Tree Tap. You will need 50 Wood and 3 Bronze Bars to craft one tap. You can get wood by chopping trees, and bronze bars by using the furnace and mixing 5 bronze ores with one coal. Once you have the materials, you can craft the tree tap.
Now that you have the tree tap, you can head over to any tree on your farm and place the tap. Once it is full, you can take all the sap and use it for its intended purpose.
