The Quarry, the next interactive drama horror video game from Supermassive Games, will be available through 2K Games. It is a spiritual sequel to Until Dawn (2015), and it will be released on Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S.
The player takes control of one of nine different characters who must survive a night in Hackett’s Quarry. The player must make choices that affect character growth, plot, and relationships between characters. All nine playable characters may have died before the game’s conclusion, and each character has 10-12 different ways to die.
Not everyone will appreciate The Quarry’s black bars that appear at the top and bottom of the screen during cinematics and gameplay. Though it makes sense in terms of cinematic watching and overall broader shot, other people may choose to just use fullscreen mode. Here’s the lowdown on a future full-screen option and how to get rid of the black bars.

Removing Black Bars
To eliminate the black bars and make The Quarry full screen, players must change the aspect ratio settings on their monitor. Aspect Ratio buttons or options in the settings menu are common on TV remotes.
This enables users to crop an image to fill more of the screen. This is clearly not as beneficial as an in-game full screen mode, but it will aid those who are desperate to eliminate the black bars.
Because the output resolution will remain constant, zooming in on the image may have an undesirable influence on the sharpness of the video. Furthermore, by cropping out the margins while zooming in, players may miss important gameplay features such as Tarot Cards.
Fullscreen Mode
There are no modes available for The Quarry at the time of writing. However, this might change shortly after launch. It’s expected that developers may create a fullscreen mode mod for PC users. Time will tell whether or not the modding community embraces this game.
It’s also possible that Supermassive Games may include a fullscreen mode in a post-launch update. However, this would entail a significant amount of labour and may conflict with the developer’s artistic intentions.
The Quarry will be released on Friday, June 10th, however, the exact day and time may vary depending on the platform and time zone in which you play. So stay tuned to our page for further information.
Why does your logo look exactly like the Overwatch logo…
Exactly?
I can’t believe they are still forcing us to play in 21:9 like WTF is wrong with them?
I don’t buy a 1000€ TV or monitor to use only 65% of it. I can accept when a movie is in 21:9 but in a game this is complete bullsh*t.
And your “fix” is not what I was looking for but thanks anyway! I’m glad there are still people out there who enjoy FULLSCREEN.
