Boss Fights in Archon Story quests have always been scary. If you couldn’t beat them in the story quest, you’re stuck there until you do. Genshin Impact Version 3.0 initial patch notes have revealed that it will make some boss fights in story quests easier. We can’t be fully sure if these changes will also apply to their weekly fight domains, but for now, their difficulty in story/archon quests will be reduced.
Nerfed Boss Fights in the Archon Quests of Genshin Impact
The Boss fights in Archon Quests that are getting the nerfs will be those of Dvalin and Raiden Shogun. Their details are discussed below.
Dvalin
Dvalin’s boss fight in the sky in the Archon quest is expected to inflict reduced damage to our budding travelers. This is the fight where you and Dvalin are airborne, and you’re expected to use your attack to aim and shoot at one of Dvalin’s weak points. Occasionally Dvalin launches a trail of energy orbs behind him, which, if it hits your character, will now inflict less damage. His boss fight in the castle ruins will now have less ATK from his side. Additionally, his move that collapses the platform under the traveler will now collapse lesser platforms than before.
Raiden Shogun
Raiden Shogun’s boss fights in her Archon Quest will now have many mechanics and timings optimized to make the gameplay smoother and hopefully easier for the players. The details are still a mystery as to how but we do know her ‘Vision Hunt Decree’ mode and her “divine punishment” move are getting optimized.
While Dvalin’s Archon Quest boss fight isn’t too difficult, it’s understandable why Hoyoverse is reducing its difficulty for new players just getting into the game. Without proper knowledge of Dvalin’s moves, the first boss fight gets considerably scarier and more difficult. As for Raiden Shogun, her boss fight in the Archon Quest is unnervingly difficult even for most veteran players, so it’s reasonable that “optimizations” are being done.
