Genshin Impact Version 3.0 is just one day away, and lower-leveled players have been worried about if they can enter the region and start quests. Inazuma was an island nation, and upon its release in Version 2.0, it was locked by the Raiden Shogun’s thunderstorm and even politically by the Vision Hunt Decree.
Players tried entering the region without completing the pre-requisite quests, and they all failed. There was an AR rank cap where players below a certain AR Rank couldn’t enter Inazuma. Players have been wondering if it’s the same for Sumeru.
In short- no. There are no such weather hazards or political decrees preventing travelers from entering the region and exploring it on their own. Players are advised to be at least AR Rank 35 before venturing into the region due to the tough enemies of the region. It doesn’t seem like the region will be locked to lower-leveled players, but things could still change upon release.
The Sumeru Archon Quest, on the other hand, will require players to complete the pre-requisite quests and qualifications to start the quest. They are as follows:
As you can see, the Archon Quest Chapter III for Sumeru- Act I “Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark” will be unlocked to players who are AR 35 or above and have completed the Archon Quest Chapter II- Act IV “Requiem of the Echoing Depths.”
The Requiem of the Echoing Depths is the last installment of the Archon Quest in the Chasm. Players must have completed this intermediate Archon Quest before venturing into and attempting the Sumeru Archon Quest. That said, travelers can still hopefully explore Sumeru on their own despite the quests and some puzzles being locked behind the Archon Quest.
