You can only use this technique during a multiplayer battle, preferably in a Doubles battle. You have to make sure that Dondozo and Tatsugiri are placed at the first and second-party slots. After releasing them both at the same time, use Tatsugiri’s ability called Commander to get into Dondozo’s mouth.
This ability will give Dondozo heightened stats by 2 points each. It will also gain the Order Up move, which will further increase particular stats based on what type of Tatsugiri is in its mouth. An orange or curly Tatsugiri will give it a Defense boost, while a Pink or Droopy Tatsugiri will give it an Attack boost. Yellow or Stretchy Tatsugiri will give Dondozo a Speed boost. The more you use the stat move, the more it gets boosted. Apart from that, Dondozo will also deal 80 dragon-type damage while using Order Up.
If Dondozo has fainted in battle, Tatsugiri will take its place. You can keep using the Commander ability if you have more Dondozo in your team.
