The last biome added to Enshrouded 1.0 is Cinder’s Cradle, which offers hazardous terrain and fresh materials to explore. Nevertheless, before entering this area, you need to upgrade your Flame to Level 10 and collect a certain quest-related item. Here’s how to unlock the entrance and reach the new biome.
How To Unlock Cinder’s Cradle
Before heading to Cinder’s Cradle, complete the Crown of Sorrow quest to obtain the Broken Guard of the North Crown. From Cromville Hot Springs, travel northwards all the way to Cromville Castle and climb up the castle ramparts. You can break into the Cromville Throne Room using bombs to cut across. Upon reaching there, go ahead and interact with the crown on the throne to collect the item.
Next, upgrade your Flame to Level 10 using the following resources:
- 16 Survivors
- 60 Sparks
- 1 Broken Guard of the North Crown
- 15 Gleam Root Dust
- 10 Piscine Ivory Dust
- 30 Drak Blood
- 10 Shroud Sludge
- 30 Daylilies
Upgrading your Flame also increases the maximum number of Flame Altars per world to 15.
How To Reach the Ancient Gate
The location of the Ancient Gate is in between Cromville Hot Spring and Lake Luma towards the North of Veilwater Basin. If you have a Flame Altar nearby, you can transport there quickly. If you do not have one, you need to take the Ancient Spire in Veilwater Basin to find your way there which requires a longer trip.
When you reach the Ancient Gate with a flame that is Level 10, you can walk through it into Cinder’s Cradle.
Tips for Exploring Cinder’s Cradle
Cinder’s Cradle is among the more difficult areas of the game, so it would be wise to carry upgraded gear and enough supplies before venturing out. The biome has new crafting resources available for your character and base. Consider placing a Flame Altar on the outside of the entrance or in a secure spot in the region so you can make future back easier.
