Disable On-Demand Texture Streaming

On-demand texture streaming is a great feature from the devs to improve the game’s performance, but this setting can sometimes cause game issues, as we saw in Vanguard. So, if Modern Warfare 2 has been crashing on your PS5, we suggest you disable this feature. To do it, go to Settings from the Main Menu and then to the Graphics section. The first option is On-Demand Texture Streaming.

Clean the Game Disc

Check the disc’s functionality if you see the PS5 error number CE-108255-1 when playing a game from a disc.

If there is any physical damage, remove the disc from your PS5 system. After that, clean the disc to eliminate debris, dust, smudges, fingerprints, etc. Insert the disc into your console after making sure it’s clean and check to see whether the issue CE-108255-1 has been fixed.

Reset the console

If the error code CE-108255-1 persists, you might need to reset PS5 to get it back to how it was. Please be advised that the process will delete all user data.

  • First, attach an external hard disc or USB flash drive to your PlayStation 5.
  • Then select System Software from the left-hand menu and Back Up and Restore from the right-hand menu. Select “Back Up Your PS5” on the following page.
  • The third step is to choose the kind of data you want to back up and then click Next > Back Up.
  • The backup will end when your console restarts. Shut off the console and unplug the backup disc.
  • Start your PlayStation 5 system in Safe Mode and choose to reset it. After resetting your PS5, the error code CE-108255-1 should be resolved.
  • Connect your PS4 to a network with access to the internet. Preferably a wired network.
  • Select System Software Update under PS4 Settings.

Update the console

Sony often upgrades PS5 consoles’ system software to provide new features and correct bugs. You should thus maintain your PS5 system software up to date to get the most out of your PlayStation experience. To get rid of CE-108255-1, you may also try upgrading the system software on your PS5. Here are two ways to receive updates.

  • Select System under Settings.
  • Choose System Software from the left pane. Select System Software Update and Settings in the right pane.
  • Enable the options to Download Update Files Automatically and Install Update Files Automatically on the next page. Following that, choose Update System Software.

Disable HDCP on the Console

High-bandwidth HDCP stands for Digital Content Protection. It is a sort of digital copy protection intended to prevent the transfer of digital audio and video content across devices.

Although this HDCP function frequently has little to no impact on games, it can occasionally result in the CE-108255-1 PlayStation error code and disrupt gameplay capture options.

  • On your PS5, go to Settings.
  • Choose the System category in step two.
  • Choose HDMI in the left pane. Turn off the Enable HDCP option’s button in the right pane.

Re-install the game

If you continue to see the PS5 CE-108255-1 error code when starting, playing, or using a game or program, you should update it with the most recent updates. You might need to try reinstalling the game or application where the problem appears if it keeps occurring.

  • Select Storage under Settings.
  • Choose Console Storage from the left pane. Choose Games and Apps from the right pane.
  • Select Delete next to the game that has to be reinstalled.
  • Step 4 is to download and reinstall the software.

Change the language

Language pack issues might be the root of the PlayStation error number CE-108255-1. In this case, consider switching to American English to solve the problem.

Simply navigate to PS5 Settings > System. Next, choose Language from the left-hand menu. From the drop-down choices in the right pane for Console Language and Input Language, select English (United States). Changing the console language may utilize a different game and user interface language.

We hope the preceding step in troubleshooting was successful in resolving this problem. Please let us know if the issue is still not resolved. See you in the next one.
