To find a Surf Map to play on, you need to join a Community Server that hosts a Surf Map Server or join an Offline Map. To join a Surf Community Server, after launching the game click on the Play CS:GO option and select the Community Server Browser in the drop-down menu. There is a search bar where you can search for any server you wish. Over here, type in Surf and select any of the servers that show up. There are different tiered maps as well, with Tier 1 being the easiest to play, and Tier 5 being the hardest in Surf Maps.
If you wish to try the Surf Maps instead and wish to train yourself on it, then you will have to manually download the Surf Map from the Steam Workshop. To do this, head over to the Steam Workshop in Steam and apply the filter CS:GO into the Search Settings. Once that’s done, in the search bar, type in Surf and click enter. You can now download and play offline with your very own Surf Map.
Once you have your surf map, you can test out your maneuvering skills by running down the ramps while gaining momentum. Depending on the difficulty of the map, you will need to practice running through them multiple times till you get a hang of it. You will get heightened velocity that will make you slide, strafe, and jump higher than on normal maps. You can also practice how to change directions mid-air and land on different ramps from jumping. Some maps offer combat within a Surf Map, so if you get more of sliding and strafing around, you can do so with a weapon of choice as you try to take down opponents along the way.
