Microsoft has officially announced their Xbox and Bethesda summer showcase which is to take place on June 13th at 10 a.m Pacific Time. The showcase is expected to debut new titles that are slated for release in 2022 and beyond. This will be the first time that Microsoft and The Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda have ever collaborated, which should lead to some exciting reveals during the event.
This is the first showcase of its kind since Microsoft acquired Bethesda last year. The showcase will feature first-party games from Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, as well as third-party games, and will be available to stream on Twitch, YouTube, and more.
The list of games that we’ll see is likely to include Starfield, which has been delayed to Fall 2022. However, recently a former Bethesda developer showed up on ResetEra and broke NDA saying that Bethesda has an overabundance of content for the game and will likely need to cut back if they’re going to make the launch date. Other Bethesda games you might expect to see include Redfall— a new Wolfenstein — and that Indiana Jones game that was teased a while back. As for the other Xbox studios, Avowed, Everwild, Fable, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Outer Worlds 2, Hellblade 2, and new Gears of War are all in development. But it’s hard to say which ones will show up since some of them have had reports regarding development issues. The showcase will also feature games from third-party developers as well.
Expect the showcase to be loaded with new games in all of the different categories that you see from major developers. Bethesda is quite likely to reveal plans for new titles in their various IPs, including The Elder Scrolls, Doom, and Wolfenstein. If I were to guess, we will also probably see at least one franchise revival in this showcase as well. We can’t forget about Microsoft either as they are likely planning to debut some new IPs here as well. It’s going to be an exciting two days!
