Warzone Pacific is a great move forward for the game, but the current state of the game on consoles has a range of performance issues. There are texture problems that have a temp fix, then, there is a crashing, Goldflake error, and a new issue that emerged on PS5 mostly, but also affects PS4 players. Players are reporting that Warzone Pacific freezes and crashes on PS5. It’s making the game completely unplayable. If you have run into the issue, here are some things you can try.
Can you Fix Warzone Freezing and Crashing on PS5 and PS4
To start off with the fix for Warzone freezing and crashing on the PS5 and PS4, disable the on-demand texture streaming. This particular setting is great in an attempt to reduce the game size, but it’s caused a lot of problems in both Vanguard and Warzone ever since this year’s CoD title came out. So, it’s best you have this disabled even though it may not actually fix the issue for most users.
Warzone has a lot of performance problems in its current state, which could be made worst if you are running the game at 120 Hz. Until there is a patch and the game is more stable, it would be better to play at 1080P and 60Hz. It would make the game more stable and reduce the freezing and crashing. Most of the users who have been reporting these problems are playing on 4K and at 120 Hz. The game is more stable at the above settings as we tried ourselves.
While the above fix may work for some players, they are not a guaranteed fix as the main issue lies with the game, especially for console players Warzone needs a lot of work. Here are some user reports of the problem.
We hope that there is a patch soon that resolves all the Warzone performance problems on the PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. We will keep an eye on the situation and update the post when we have news from the devs or a new solution surfaces.
Just recieved my PS5 and have multiple moments where I play warzone and suddenly I have the freeze lag. I have had this multiple times, as often as 4-5 times a day. I haven’t had these issues on my PS4 and i’m not playing in 4K, I run 1080p with 120hz. I really hope they get a patch to fix this problem, this is so annoying. Anything I can do? I have disabled the quality streaming as you recomend fixing this problem with no sucess.
