Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- the Hinokami Chronicles is an anime fighter from CyberConnect 2 and SEGA. While anime fighters are quite common on Steam, this game is particularly interesting as it brings life to the original TV series and gives fans to enjoy live the characters. The game has had a decent launch with limited players, mainly due to the high price, but aside from that, the game has little to complain about. Currently, the game is capped to 30 FPS, but we made an original post a few days back that can fix that problem.
The developers have said that an upcoming update for the game will uncap the FPS and allow the game to run on 60 FPS. The other widespread issue with the game is server connectivity. Users report various errors when attempting to launch the game such as “the game server cannot be accessed,” “server could not be connected,” “disconnected from the server,” etc.
It’s highly unlikely that the server problem with the game is due to an issue on the user end. We got in touch with the Sega support and they have assured us that they are aware of the connection problem and issue of joining online or ranked matches. They know that the issue affects a large number of players and they are working on a fix. They did not give an ETA on the fix or any specific reasons for disconnects.
We hope that the patch that brings 60 FPS to the game also resolves the server connection problems with the game.
For the majority of players, the issue may be caused due to a server-side issue, but it won’t harm to reset the network hardware in an attempt to fix the problem. Also, set a more game-friendly DNS such as Google DNS for better connectivity with the servers.
Aside from that, there is nothing you can do at the moment but hope that the devs address the issue soon.
