In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, if you feed on civilians with witnesses, you will be Bloodhunted by others of your kind for violating the vampiric code of The Masquerade. So why should you bother feeding at all? This guide will answer the question that many players might have had in their playthrough of the game Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt Feeding Guide
The game doesn’t really tell you why you should feed on civilians while it encourages you to do the same. As you already know how to heal yourself using consumables such as blood syringes and blood packs, it begs the question of why you should feed at all. Note that you will need to feed responsibly as well, so that you don’t get killed by other vampires.

The first thing that draining a civilian completely gives you is full health. That’s a fitting reward in itself as you’re exchanging lives for lives, but there is more to go around. You will also get some boosts for feeding on certain civilians that will help you throughout the course of your gameplay. These effects are stackable up to three, but you can have only three of them active at a time. These are called blood resonance slots and are recognizable by their bright colours.
Phelgmatic
This boost is in the color of light blue, and you will gain the effect of reduced cooldown of your rightmost ability.
Melancholic
Purple is the color of this effect, and you will receive a buff to have a reduced cooldown of your leftmost ability.
Sanguine
This effect is characterised by its pink color. It will give you the boost of slowly recovering health over time.
Choleric
This is orange in color, and you will obtain the boost to have increased melee attack damage.
