Genshin Impact 3.0 will finally introduce us to the Dendro element and players can’t wait to experience it for themselves. Dendro will likely change the way we interact with the elements and elemental mastery will play a key role in this new elemental dynamic.
Why Elemental Mastery will be Important to Dendro
Since Dendro is not immediately removed upon application of a new element or reaction, players can trigger triple-reactions by adding another element to the mix or re-applying another element again. According to leakers, Dendro damage and reactions will scale off of Elemental Mastery which explains why the leaked kits of the Dendro and Sumeru characters all have a connection to the EM stat.
Even the latest Electro characters from Inazuma like Yae Miko and Kuki Shinobu have EM buffs in their kits which never made sense until now. While there still will be reaction damage scaling off of the usual Attack%, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage%, with the introduction of Dendro, it’s clear Hoyoverse is trying to take Genshin in a new direction when it comes to elemental combat and gameplay.
Earlier only Anemo units have had any use for the EM pieces due to Swirl damage greatly depending on EM stats of the character triggering the Swirl. Kazuha, Sucrose and Venti have been the main users of EM pieces for a long time. But the purpose of Anemo was always just crowd control and with the introduction of Dendro, we believe we’ll finally have an element dedicated to the EM stat.
It’s wise and rather advisable for players to save up on their EM artifacts no matter what set they belong to as they might soon become the meta and thus invaluable in Sumeru. Even 4-star EM artifacts will be valuable substitutes in case you don’t currently have 5-star EM pieces. With the confirmed release of two Dendro characters– Tighnari and Collei, and the surety that we’ll also have a guaranteed Dendro unit in the Dendro Traveller, players will be in need of plenty EM artifact pieces.
