Dinkum is a fun life and farming simulation game where you make the place the way you want it to be. The game is created by an Australian developer called James Bendon, and there are a lot of neat features in the game that makes the early release version of the game worth playing. This guide will take you through the process of where to find opals in Dinkum.
How to Get Opals in Dinkum
When it rains at night, you should keep your eyes peeled, because this is the time when the Thunder Eggs spawn. This is a large egg that you can sell to John for some cash—or break open. Use a pickaxe to open the egg, and you will find some blue stones inside. These are opals, and they are much more expensive.

This is the main way that you can get Opals, however there are some other ways which also depend on chance. You can them randomly while mining ore or stone. You can also find them in the deep mine. When you use your Stone Grinder to grind shiny stones, there is a small chance that you will get an Opal along with the ores.
Opals sell for 15,000 Dinks each. As you get 4 with each Thunder Egg, this is an easy way to get 60,000 Dinks instantly.
As of now, there are no crafting items that you can make with Opals, and there seems to be nothing that you can do with the stones besides selling them for a pretty penny. It also might be a good idea to hold onto them in case James Bendon comes out with a new update, but that probably won’t be anytime soon. We’d recommend that you sell these Opals, especially if you have a lot of them.
