Sumeru is finally out with Version 3.0 of Genshin Impact, but, like it was with Inazuma, this isn’t the complete region of Sumeru. We still have the Desert half of Sumeru, which is scheduled to be released at later updates- most likely in Version 3.1.
Players have already seen the attention to detail that went into creating flora and fauna of the rainforest half of Sumeru. It comes as no surprise that the Desert region will also have its flora and fauna, and in this article, we’re going to be looking at some of the fauna of the region.
Upcoming Sumeru Desert Creatures in Genshin Impact
Sumeru’s creatures have been created with realism regarding their actions and behaviors. We’re finally getting a clear distinction between wild and domesticated animals. The only fantasy element added to these were in the in-game design models. The following desert creatures reflect the same.
Desert Fox
Since Inazuma, foxes have been a passive animal added to the game. We’ll have to see if these are as big because in these images, they look small.
Quicksand Unagi
Unagi is a food resource in Genshin Impact and, earlier, only available in Inazuma. This desert oasis can now be another place to farm for unagi for all those specialty dishes.
Scarab Beetle
Like we got the Onikabuto beetles in Inazuma, Sumeru’s desert region will feature Scarab Beetles. This will likely be collectible and serve as ascension materials for future characters.
Desert Sumpter Beast
These will likely be the Eremites’ main mode of transport in the desert regions. They look rather cute and friendly but will likely have the same behavior patterns as Shaggy Sumpter Beasts.
Red Vulture
This is a bird, yet we’re not sure if it will drop fowl. They have an aggressive design but can likely be easily fought off since they won’t fly too high into the air for their attacks.
Scorpion
We’re glad Poisoned isn’t a current debuff status in the game. Else this would be a difficult enemy to deal with. They’re likely to be small and harmless, like lizards or frogs.
Sacred Ibis
Another bird model, the Sacred Ibis, likely has lore connections to the Scarlet King of the Eremites. It looks considerably bigger than the usual bird models, so we expect it to drop multiple fowls.
The desert will be a vast and more or less empty and dry place. These creatures will make amazing additions to such a terrain to liven things up. Genshin Impact Version 3.1 releases next month, so players won’t have to wait long.
