Trigon: Space Story is a 2.5D spaceship command sim that puts you at center stage as the captain of your very own space vessel. The game sees you take command of your ship and carry out tactical battles, defend your vessel against space pirates, and escape from enemy territory. You’ll even have to undertake missions, make key decisions that influence the flow of the plot, and uncover the mystery of the galaxy on a journey that really keeps you on your toes throughout. In this Trigon Combat Guide, we’ll help you understand the battles and teach you tips & tricks to survive.
Basic Points to remember
1 – The combat system is fairly simple to master, but it does take some practice to master it. As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock new skills and weapons for your ship. These can be equipped before each battle and will help improve your chances of survival.
2 – Each weapon has its own cooldown time before it can be fired again. The red bar on the left side of each weapon represents how much time is left until it can be used again. If it reaches 0%, then that weapon won’t work until it cools down again.
3 – Each ship has a shield that protects against damage from enemy ships and asteroids in space battles and planetary invasions (more on this later). The blue bar on top represents how much protection is left before your ship becomes vulnerable to attack again. If it reaches 0%, then your ship is no longer protected by its shields and will begin taking damage from enemy attacks until they’re restored again by repairing them.
4 – Each ship requires a certain amount of food in order to sustain its members and fuel to use the hyperdrive of the ship. Each time you use Hyperdrive you will instantly lose a certain amount of food and Fuel.
5 – There is no save game or continue option so you have to give your best shot each and every single time.
Key Points that are an absolute must
Hyperdrive – Make Sure your Hyperdrive is ready even in battle as it can save the day by running away if you start losing the battle. So make sure you take the utmost care of your Hyperdrive.
Rocket Launchers – Before you use Hyperdrive to move to a different location, make sure you have enough missiles loaded in your Rocket launcher, as you will face lots of random enemy ships and once you run out of rockets you cannot change that rocket Launcher with another weapon in the midst of battle. ( I ran out of rockets during a pirate battle and ended up getting destroyed in seconds )
Blasters – It does not require any ammunition and hence it’s a better choice for most of the fights although it does significantly less damage than a Rocket launcher, it’s more reliable in the long run.
Scrap – Make sure you always have some extra scrap left for emergencies as it’s the most key component in Trigon Space Story. You can upgrade your ship with scrap and you can also repair your ship with scrap so keeping extra scraps for an emergency will be a game-changer when you are running from a battle and your ship is badly hurt, this is when your extra scrap will save the day.
The weakest link – Always notice the number of energy slots in each of the enemy ships’ compartments as this will reveal all the tactical information to you. You will also notice that each of the compartments in enemy ships has a different number of slots, some will have three, most will have 2 and certain ones will have only 1 energy slot.
The Type of compartments – Trigon has lots of different compartments that serve a unique purpose. let’s just say you are facing a pirate space ship and it has a teleportation compartment inside the ship, in the case the first thing you must do is destroy the teleportation system as early as a possible cause if you fail to do so the pirates will teleport inside your ship and kill each and every member of your ship within a short span of time so always focus and the type of compartments each enemy team posses.
The battles are the most fun part of Trigon: Space Story, and figuring out how to best use your resources to win each encounter is very rewarding. With that in mind, we hope you enjoy this combat guide and wish you the best of luck on the battlefield!
