There are two types of water purifiers you can use in the game. Initially, you can craft the Simple Purifier from the research table. This requires level one research, so you can quickly unlock it. After that, in the build menu, check out the materials needed to craft it. At level 2 research, you can unlock the Advanced Purifier to filter the water better. This requires more materials to build it, so gather the materials and place the Advanced Water Purifier in your base.

To use the water purifiers, you need to collect water first. Grab a bucket and collect some sea water. You can craft a metal bucket from the build menu after collecting 6 scraps. Now get back to the purifier and feed it the water. It will filter it and give you drinking water. While using the Advanced Water Purifier, you need to add wood before you can add water. Press and hold the F key to pump the water distillery and get clean water.

You can now directly drink the water from the source, or store it in an empty glass bottle to consume later. If you store water in an empty water bottle, you can carry it around with you.
