Starfield is more than just space exploration. You can find characters on the various planets who will hand over quests. One of the quests called High Price to Pay will have you making a tough choice. While staying in The Lodge, you will get word that your comrades in The Eye are under attack. You can choose to stay back in the Lodge and defend it, or go back to The Eye. Both choices will have consequences, so you have to choose the one that will benefit you more. Protect The Lodge in Starfield
If you choose to stay back and protect the Lodge from The Hunter, you will find one of your favorite companions back in The Eye dead. After a short while, you will encounter The Hunter in the Lodge and face off in battle. After the first encounter, you will find him again when reaching the Well in New Atlantis. You don’t have to fight him repeatedly, as winning the first battle will ensure that you get a reward in the end. After the Hunter leaves on his ship, the Scorpious, you can leave for The Eye. At this point you will be contacted by him and you will receive the Unrestrained Vengeance rare laser rifle.
Back in the Eye, you will find your most favorite companion dead. Every other companion you left behind will be alive. You can pick up your dead companion’s inventory and store them for later use
Go to The Eye in Starfield
As soon as you get word of the attack, quickly make your way to The Eye. The longer you linger in The Lodge, you will encounter the Hunter here instead. Once you fast travel to The Eye, you will find everyone alive and the Hunter has made his way to The Lodge. Head back there to find everyone in bad condition, and your favorite companion that you left behind in The Lodge will be dead. Collect their belongings, then make your way to The Well to commence battle. The rest of the choice will play out as mentioned in the above choice.
Which Companion Will Die?
The choice of which companion will die in either The Lodge or The Eye is random. Usually your most favorite companion who you have a high rapport and left behind in either place with will be the one to die. The only thing you can do after their death is to collect their inventory items and store them for later use. But you won’t lose companions in both places at the same time. So it depends on which place you are going to be at while making the choice, and the companion will die in your absence.
