The new PlayStation Plus service has been creating ripples in the gaming world for quite some time. Sony made it official this March, and the service will introduce three tiers for players to choose from. All of these tiers will come with game libraries for players to enjoy. Sony recently announced the full catalog with all the games in a blog post.
These new plans will include the already available benefits on the current PS Plus subscription. These include monthly games that come free with the subscription.
The three tiers of the subscription are listed as follows:
- PS Plus Deluxe / Premium
- PS Plus Extra
- PS Plus Essential
What is included in the PS Plus Essential Plan?
The PS Plus Essential will be the same PS Plus subscription as is available today. It will include access to online multiplayer gaming, free games every month, and exclusive deals every week.
What is included in the PS Plus Extra Plan?
The next plan in the tier list, PS Plus Extra, will include a bunch of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games for free. These include some PlayStation exclusives as well as a collection of third-party titles. Some notable examples are Days Gone, The Last of Us Remastered, Horizon Zero Dawn, Control: Ultimate Edition. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla among several others. Both PS Plus Extra and Deluxe / Premium subscribers will be able to access this collection.
What is included in the PS Plus Deluxe/Premium Plan?
For the highest tier subscription, PS Plus Deluxe/Premium, a bunch of classic games will be included. These include some original PlayStation and PSP games like Tekken 2, Jumping Flash!, Hot Shots Golf, Worms Armageddon, etc. A bunch of first-party and third-party remasters of classic games will also be included. These include Bioshock Remastered, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Rogue Galaxy, and Dark Cloud 2 among others.
Apart from this, PS Plus Deluxe/Premium subscribers will also be able to enjoy select PS3 titles via cloud streaming. This will be applicable only if cloud streaming is available in the respective market. Some PS3 games that can be enjoyed include Infamous 2, Devil May Cry HD Collection, a few Ratchet & Clank games, and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare.
PlayStation Plus Premium / Deluxe members will also be able to enjoy time-limited game trials. Currently, these include Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk 2077, and WWE 2K22 among others.
When Will New Games be Introduced to PS Plus?
PlayStation announced that new games will be added regularly to the subscription. For the PS Plus Essential plan, new PS4 and PS5 games will be added on the first Tuesday of every month. For the PS Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans, an additional refresh will occur midway through each month which will introduce new games to the subscription.
The new plans are supposed to start rolling out on May 24th in Asia (excluding Japan). It is scheduled a June 2 rollout in Japan. The plans will be rolled out on June 13 for North and South America, and on June 23 for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
