There are 5 ranks in the ranking system of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Each rank is represented by an animal symbol.
- Rookie: Rabbit
- Bronze: Wasp
- Silver: Deer
- Gold: Hawk
- Platinum: Wolf
Each rank is divided into Tiers, with Rookie only having Tier 1 and Tier 2 while the others have Tier 1 to Tier 5. You will be placed in Rookie Tier 2 in the beginning and will have to fight your way to reach the top, Platinum Tier 1.
To increase your rank, you have to participate in Standard Duels and win. You will have to do this constantly for your ranking to climb up. If you lose a couple of matches, you will be pushed back to the Tier you were in before, and ultimately fall the ranks if it keeps up. Being in the Rookie rank is the only rank where you do not have to worry about climbing down if you lose.
Currently, there is a seasonal tallying system going on where each wins or lose qualifies for you to go up or down a rank. After this ends, your points will not accumulate to your overall rank, even if you do duel. The end date for the recent tallying period is set for 31st January. The next season has not yet been announced, so you can keep an eye out for that.
